If you have the evening or the day to spend with us then try one
of these options.
Start your
day exploring the shops
of Patti’s 1880’s Settlement and downtown Grand Rivers.
You will find over a dozen shops and antique stores all within
walking distance (1-2 hours).
Enjoy a dinner at Patti’s 1880’s Settlement. The Settlement
has 2 restaurants, Patti's 1880's and Mr. Bill's, both
serving their famous 2" Pork Chop and Recipient of Kentucky
Tourism Restaurant of the Year Award. Patti’s 1880’s
Settlement is a recreated historic log village including
beautiful gardens, a winding steam and lots of unique shops (2
hours).
End the
evening with the Branson-style show Variety! Music, Memories
and More (2 hours). This two hour musical review includes
singing, dancing, a life band and all of your musical favorites.
Showtime is 8:00pm on weekends but the theater will schedule
special shows with advance notice for groups of more than 50
people.
If you have to get back on the
road, we understand, but do come back and visit again soon.

Day One
Get settled in to your hotel and then begin your visit with a
walking tour of Grand Rivers. Check out the shops in our
downtown area, the walking trail and the Jetty overlooking
Kentucky
Lake
. (1-2 hours).
Enjoy a dinner at Patti’s 1880’s Settlement. The Settlement

and More at the Badgett Playhouse (2 hours). This live
Branson Style show is full of energy and fun for all ages.

Day Two
Grab a quick bite at your hotel, pack a lunch from a local
catering establishment, and head for Land Between the Lakes
National Recreation area. Start the day in the Woodlands
Nature Station (allow 20 minutes drive time from the hotel
and plan for a 10:00am arrival) and experience a hands-on
encounter with the natural world (1 hour for the Nature
Station). Next, take
in the beauty of nature as you drive through The Elk and
Bison Prairie. The prairie is a restoration of
Kentucky
’s native barrens. A gently winding road takes you
through this dynamic habitat restoration effort (allow 20
minutes drive time and 20 minutes drive of the prairie including
stops at interpretive areas).
Then travel to the Golden
Pond Visitors Center and Planetarium. The
Visitors
Center
has picinic areas for lunch.
The Planetarium features several shows a day; or you can
schedule a special show time for your group (allow 1 to 1 ˝
hours for the
Visitor
Center
and Planetarium).
The afternoon is getting late.
If you don’t have to rush right home, you can visit The
Homeplace. History comes alive at this working 19th
century farm. Or you can head back to Grand Rivers for a
little more shopping. If you need to start toward
home, we understand. You can save The Homeplace and more
shopping for your next visit.

Day One

After dinner, enjoy a

memory lane includes music from the 1940’s to current and
features singers, dancers and a live band.
Day Two
Today, pack a lunch from a local caterer or restaurant as we are
off to Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area.
Take in the beauty of nature as you travel the Trace and The
Elk and Bison Prairie. The prairie is a restoration of
Kentucky
’s native barrens and demonstrates how the region looked
during the time of Daniel Boone (1 hour).
Then travel to the Golden
Pond Visitors Center and Planetarium.
The Planetarium features several shows a day; or you can
schedule a special show time for your group (allow 1 to 1 ˝
hours for the

Center
and Planetarium). The

has picnic areas for lunch.
Next visit The Homeplace.
History comes alive at the working 19th century farm. Each day
interpreters in period clothing demonstrate the daily activities
of 19th century farm live The farm consists of 16 original and
restored log structures, most relocated from with 10 miles of
the The Homeplace (allow 15 minute drive time from the
Planetarium, 1 hour to tour the farm, and 45 minute drive time
back to Grand Rivers ).
Finish the evening with a
picnic at the Green Turtle Bay Pavilion or catered dinner
lakeside at Green Turtle Bays Conference Center. Either
can be reserved for private functions so you can choose a quite
casual dinner atmosphere or hire a band and come up with a theme
---- you are limited only by your imagination.
Day Three
After
spending yesterday in the country, today we are going to town.
After breakfast, we travel to
Paducah
,
KY.
Founded by William
Clark (think Lewis and Clark),
Paducah
’s origins can be attributed to its strategic location at the
confluence of the
Ohio
and
Tennessee
Rivers
(35 minute drive time).
The first
stop is
Whitehaven
Mansion

Next, we
head for the Riverfront, where

Murals, Overlook the Ohio & Tennessee Rivers, and
bring

's rich history to life on the downtown floodwall. These

The next stop is the
River
Heritage
Museum

River
Heritage
Museum
, a Save America's Treasures project, is housed in
Downtown’s oldest standing structure. This museum
features interactive exhibits that tell the story of the four
rivers region, including a working lock and dam model.
For lunch, choose from the
many restaurant options in historic downtown
Paducah
or in the adjacent Lowertown Arts District.
Lowertown is the home of the award-winning artist
Relocation Program and features studios and galleries of
resident artists. You
can visit potters, painters, jewelry makers, printmakers and
more in this historic neighborhood.
Before or after lunch both downtown and Lowertown are
great areas for shopping.
After lunch visit the Museum
of the American Quilters Society (215 Jefferson,
Paducah
, KY 270-442-8856). The
Paducah
Quilt
Museum
is the largest quilt museum in the world and features changing
exhibits of new and antique quilts.
